Pediatric osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on therapy aimed at supporting the health and development of infants, children, and adolescents. It is based on osteopathic principles, which emphasize the body’s natural ability to heal, and the interconnection between structure and function.
Pediatric Osteopathy
Pediatric Osteopathy is a gentle, non-invasive form of manual therapy specifically designed for infants, children, and adolescents. It is based on the principles of osteopathic medicine, which views the body as a whole, interconnected system where structure and function are closely related. Pediatric osteopaths use soft, hands-on techniques to assess and treat areas of tension, restriction, or imbalance in a child’s body, supporting its natural ability to heal and develop. During early development, children undergo rapid physical and neurological changes. Birth itself can place stress on a newborn's body—especially if the delivery was long, assisted (with forceps or vacuum), or involved a cesarean section. Pediatric osteopathy can help address the physical strain caused by these events by gently releasing tension in the skull, spine, and body. This may improve symptoms such as colic, reflux, feeding difficulties, sleep disturbances, and unsettled behavior in infants.
